i was thinking about that post comparing Jessica Rabbit as an asexual to Barbie and an asexual and then i thought of the Neil Gaiman post (was it a post?) about Crowley and Aziraphale being asexual and then this happened.

Plastic DID exist when Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry came out, though! They came out in 1930 and 1940, respectively. Cellulose plastic was invented in 1869. Bakelite, the first fully-synthetic plastic, was invented in 1907 and became really common in things like jewelry, buttons, radios, etc. Other plastics were invented in the 30s as well, like nylon! So yes, it’s more than likely that you ARE seeing plastic depicted in these cartoons!
